An Accidental Gentleman

Happy Tuesday!  It is a book release day (my favorite day of the week).  A few of the books that were released today are The Amish Harvest (various authors); The Crepes of Wrath by Sarah Fox; Die, Die Birdie by J.R. Ripley; An Accidental Gentleman by M.Q. Barber (review below); The Wedding Shop by Rachel Hauck; and Curious Minds by Janet Evanovich.  I will be reviewing all of these books here on my blog.

An Accidental Gentleman by M.Q. Barber is the second book in the Gentleman series (it is an erotic novel).  Kit Runyon loves to fix mechanical objects.  She is on her way home when the truck blows a tire just missing the man in the car behind her.  Brian (the man behind her) pulls over to assist her with changing the tire.  Brian is instantly attracted to Kit (has a physical response to her beauty).  Brian asks Kit out on a date, but Kit states she does not date.  She is only interested in one thing and it is not dinner.  Brian feels that Kit is the woman that will finally make him want to settle down and sets out to woo her.  He wants her to change her mind about dating.  Can Brian make Kit change her mind?  Is there a happily ever after in their future?  You will have to read An Accidental Gentleman to find out?

I found An Accidental Gentleman reminded me of a basic romance novel with a prolific amount of foul language (it was extremely offensive and did nothing to enhance the story) and sex scenes thrown in.  This book is very different from her Neighborly Affection series (the first couple of books in the series which I enjoyed).   Kit is a mechanic and there are many (too many) references to mechanical workings (it is off putting).  I get how it relates to sex, but that does not mean I like it.  I never got into this novel.  Normally when I read a book, I am drawn into that world.  But not with An Accidental Gentleman.  I just expected more from this author. I give An Accidental Gentleman 3 out of 5 stars.  This is the second book in the series, but it can be read alone.  It was an okay book, but just not for me.

The first book in the Gentleman series is Her Shirtless Gentleman. You can find out more about the author on her website.  I received a complimentary copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.  The comments and opinions expressed are strictly my own.

I want to thank you for visiting and I hope you find my book reviews helpful! I am currently reading Beneath a Thousand Apple Trees by Janie Devos.  I hope all of you have had a terrific Tuesday (you deserve it).  Take care and Happy Reading!
