Katie's Amish Journey of Hope by Tracy Fredrychowski

Katie's Amish Journey of Hope

Book Summary

Her faith is shaken, her heart burdened with sorrow. Can this grieving mother find her way back to the joy she once knew?

Katie Miller is lost in grief. After the death of her beloved mother, she struggles to find purpose in the daily rhythm of Amish life. Her husband’s patience is wearing thin, her children long for the mother they once knew, and the faith that once anchored her now feels distant. As sorrow deepens, she wonders if she will ever feel whole again.

Desperate to help, Daniel turns to Katie’s father, hoping Levi can guide her back to the light. But Levi, too, is drowning in grief, lost without the woman who was the heart of their family. As they all drift further apart, their family begins to crack under the weight of sorrow, and Katie fears the love they once shared may not survive.

But when a kind stranger arrives in their quiet Amish community, carrying a message that stirs something deep within Katie, a flicker of hope emerges. Soon, small reminders of her mother’s unwavering faith begin appearing. These gentle signs feel like messages from heaven, whispering that Ruth’s love and wisdom have never truly left.

Encouraged by her children’s laughter, the steadfast love of her husband, and the gentle hands of a community that refuses to let her fall, Katie slowly rediscovers joy in the simple blessings around her. As the first signs of spring bring new life to the fields of Lawrence County, she must make a choice… will she continue down a path of sorrow, or will she embrace the promise of renewal, trusting that Gott’splan is greater than her pain?

Can she open her heart to healing before she loses everything she holds dear?

Katie’s Amish Journey of Hope is a heartfelt and inspiring novel in The Amish Women of Lawrence County series of Amish women’s fiction. If you love emotional journeys of faith, stories of marriage and motherhood, and the power of God’s grace to restore even the most broken hearts, then you’ll be moved by Tracy Fredrychowski’s tender tale of love, healing, and renewal.

My Thoughts

Katie’s Amish Journey of Hope by Tracy Fredrychowski is a touching tale.  I thought the author captured the depression a can feel after the birth of a child and the loss of a parent.  I felt for Katie.  I know what it is like to lose a parent, and the grief can become overwhelming.  I liked that we got to see the issue from different family members’ perspectives (Katie’s husband, brother, and sister-in-law).  I sympathized with Katie’s eldest daughter, Mary, who at five was doing tasks meant for much older children.  Betty, a family friend, was a dear and definitely was needed.  Katie’s Amish Journey of Hope is a story of grief, patience, hope, love, family, and faith.  While Katie’s Amish Journey of Hope is the eighth book The Amish Women of Lawrence County series, it can be read as a standalone.   Katie’s Amish Journey of Hope is an expressive story with a departed mother, a distressed daughter, active children, a bustling bakery, a kindhearted neighbor, a teen in need, and having hope.

Katie’s Amish Journey of Hope is available from Amazon*.  You can find the other novels in The Amish Women of Lawrence County series here.  The next book in The Amish Women of Lawrence County series is Sarah’s Amish Season of Change which will be out on January 5, 2027. Tracy Fredrychowski has Buried Secrets coming out April 1.  It is the first book in An Amish Book Club Mystery series. You can find Tracy Fredrychowski's other novels here.  If you follow Tracy on Amazon, they will send you an email when she has a new book release. Thank you for dropping by today.

On Thursday, January 5, I am stop on Celebrate Lit Tour for Plain Jane's Secret Admirer by Anne Blackburne.  It is eleventh book in The Heart of the Amish series.   Please stop by tomorrow to learn more.  We enjoyed a mild day today (mid 60s).  It is our last one until the middle of next week.  The United States has not had a winter like this in many, many years.  I hope that you have a cheerful day.  Take care, stay warm, and Happy Reading!

Savannah's Amish Ties That Bind by Tracy Fredrychowski

 Savannah's Amish Ties That Bind

Book Summary

A secret Amish legacy challenges a young English woman’s faith in the shadow of a vanished husband and shattered dreams. Can she unravel the secrets of the past to forge a new life within an Old Order Amish community?

Savannah Carmicheal is uprooted from her posh Charleston, South Carolina when the sudden disappearance of her husband leads her on a journey to Northwestern Pennsylvania. As Savannah struggles with her eccentric grandmother, she discovers hidden Amish ties that connect her with a family she didn’t know existed.

Neal Zook thought he could make a life for himself elsewhere, far away from the rules and traditions of his Amish upbringing. Yet, when external forces challenge his faith, he faces a pivotal decision – to forsake all he holds dear and return to his Amish community or go against his conscience and live a lie regardless of the ties that bind him to his past.

Can this couple find common ground to bind their commitment to God, or will the clash of their worlds shatter the fragile gap between their different backgrounds?

Savannah’s Amish Ties That Bind is the inspirational sixth book in The Amish Women of Lawrence County series of women's fiction novels. If you like spiritual explorations, real-life challenges of emotional bravery, and basking in God's light, then you'll adore Tracy Fredrychowski's exploration of hope.

My Thoughts

Savannah’s Amish Ties that Bindby Tracy Fredrychowski is the sixth book in The Amish Women of Lawrence County series.  It can be read as a standalone for those new to the series.  I enjoyed returning to Willow Springs, Pennsylvania where life moves at a slower pace.  I love Savannah’s grandmother, Gigi.  She is a sweet, kind woman.  In the beginning, Savannah is a smart, spunky, and creative woman who needs to work on her temper.  She also needs to address issues she has with her parents.  Neal is confused and needs to figure out his personal as well as his professional future.

Savannah’s Amish Ties that Bind is a different type of Amish book.  It is a good story told from Savannah and Neal’s point of view.  Neal and Savannah have a lot to figure out.  While Savannah’s Amish Ties that Bind is an interesting tale, I did not like seeing individuality discouraged.   Faith is one of the main focuses of the story along with regret, family, love, and forgiveness. Savannah's Amish Ties that Bind is a special story that will resonate with many readers.

Savannah’s Amish Ties that Bind can be ordered from Amazon*.  You can read it for free if you belong to Kindle Unlimited.  You should check out the other five books in The Amish Women of Lawrence County series (all available through Kindle Unlimited).  Ruth's Amish Words of Faith, which releases on May 6, 2025, will be the seventh book in The Amish Women of Lawrence County series and it can be preordered from Amazon*.  Tracy Fredrychowski along with Mindy Steele, Rachel J. Good, and Jennifer Beckstrand has An Amish Christmas Table publishing on October 14 (it will be available through Kindle Unlimited).  Thank you for dropping by today.  Tomorrow I am sharing my thoughts on Before We Were Us by Denise Hunter. I am off to spray a strong peppermint mixture around my home (water with peppermint essential oil).  I am having trouble with racoons. The local racoons have decided that the food that I put out for the cats is for them as well (and they are greedy). IF they were not so greedy, I would not mind.  I have looked up natural ways to keep the racoons at bay, and it seems that there are certain scents that deter them.  I am starting with peppermint and working my way down the list (black pepper, cayenne, epsom salts, and garlic).  They also mention amonia, but I feel that is too toxic (I do not want to harm any of the animals). We shall see what (if any) work. I hope that you have an upbeat day!  Take care and Happy Reading!

About the Author

Tracy Fredrychowski

Tracy Fredrychowski is a country girl, author, homesteader and everything simple living. She has a passion for writing about the simpler side of life, much like the life she lived growing up in rural Pennsylvania.

Her life has always been intertwined with the Amish, and it’s only fitting that she has a genuine passion for their simplicity, sense of community and God-centered lives.

Growing up in Northwest Pennsylvania she spent her childhood immersed deep in Amish Country. The clip-clop of horse and buggy woke her each morning as Amish men drove past her childhood home on their way to work. As a young woman, she was traumatized by an Amish murder that involved a family member and changed her life forever.

Even though she currently lives in South Carolina her travels take her through Pennsylvania, Ohio, Indiana, and Wisconsin’s Amish Country every year. During those stops, she researches the communities she visits and prides herself on writing Amish fiction that truly represents the Amish culture. She considers herself very fortunate to have made friends in those communities and values the information they share and wants nothing more than to represent their lifestyle as accurately as possible.

My Thoughts

Allie’s Amish Family Miracle by Tracy Fredrychowski is the fifth book in The Amish Women of Lawrence County Series.  It can be read as a standalone for those new to the series.  I found the story to be easy to read.  I enjoyed getting to know Allie, Reuben, and most of the Raber family.  There are good life lessons in the story.   I liked seeing the characters grow as individuals, couples, and spiritually.  Faith is nicely integrated plus there are some good messages. My favorite is that God has a reason for everything that He does.  I was a little disappointed with the ending.  We do not get to find out something important (and I wanted to know).  I am sure it will be addressed in the next book in the series.  I hope Tracy writes quickly because I am eager to read Savannah’s Amish Ties That Bind. Allie’s Amish Family Miracle is a dramatic tale with a rocky romance, a harmful hurricane, a meddling mother, surprising secrets, and bountiful blessings.

Rebecaa's Amish Heart Restored by Tracy Fredrychowski

 Rebecca's Amish Heart Restored
Book Summary

Lies and secrets surround a young woman's heart. Can this shame-filled believer salvage her life and find true happiness?

Rebecca Byler is struggling with the truth. While this young Amish woman is determined to push everyone away, Eli Bricker is set on discovering the pain that holds her captive. When Rebecca finds little reassurance from her Old Order's strict ways, she's drawn to Eli's ailing grandmother, Mary, and a letter from her deceased mother.

Still blaming herself for a series of tragedies, Rebecca plans to leave Willow Springs in hopes of saving Eli from God's wrath. But Mary sets a plan in motion to share the love of Jesus with Rebecca and force her hand in marriage to keep both Eli and her from giving up on love.

Can this sharp tongued woman find the courage to face her past and seek forgiveness from the Almighty?

Rebecca's Amish Heart Restored is the inspirational second book in The Amish Women of Lawrence County series of women's fiction novels. If you like spiritual explorations, real-life challenges of emotional bravery, and basking in God's light, then you'll adore Tracy Fredrychowski's exploration of hope.

My Thoughts

Rebecca’s Amish Heart Restored by Tracy Fredrychowski is a story about how God can take a person’s troubled heart and transform it into a loving one with help from the right people.  Rebecca pushes those who love her away with her caustic comments. Her father and new stepmother are at their wits end.  They are also worried about Rebecca’s twin, Anna, who lives in Rebecca’s shadow.  Anna goes out of her way to avoid people, especially at the twin’s fiber shop.  Mary Bricker needs help after a recent medical setback.  Taking care of Mary is the last thing Rebecca wishes to do, especially since she would have to see Eli, her ex-beau, every day.  Her father, though, is adamant.  Mary wants to help Rebecca during the time she has left.  She knows what it is like to live with a secret.  Secrets have a way of eating at your soul.  Mary wants to help Rebecca find God who will be able to give her forgiveness and help Rebecca forge a new path.  Mary hopes she has enough time left to accomplish her task.  If not, Mary has an alternate plan, but she knows it will cause an uproar in the lives of two people close to her.  I thought Rebecca’s Amish Heart Restored was well-written with realistic, developed characters.  I liked hearing about the natural dyes the twins used on their alpaca fibers.  Their shop is a place I would love to visit.  I know I would not do well in this Amish community where men rule the roost and the community.  It would be impossible to be an individual (unique) in a community where sameness (like all their clothing looking alike) is the norm. Rebecca’s Amish Heart Restored is a story that will resonate with many people.  My favorite phrase from Rebecca’s Amish Heart Restored is, “The truth shall set you free.”  Faith is a big element in this book.  We learn the importance of accepting Jesus Christ as our Savior and asking his forgiveness.  While Rebecca’s Amish Heart Restored is the second novel in The Amish Women of Lancaster County series, it can be read as a standalone.  I do, though, want to go back and read Emma’s Amish Faith Tested.  I am looking forward to reading Anna’s Amish Fear Revealed when it comes out in late summer.  Rebecca’s Amish Heart Restored is a tender Amish tale with Rebecca’s acerbic tongue, Eli’s gentle heart, Mary’s mission, Anna’s bashfulness, and God’s gentle ways.

Rebecca's Amish Heart Restored is available from Amazon*.  If you belong to Kindle Unlimited, you can read it for free.  The other novel in The Amish Women of Lawrence County series is Emma's Amish Faith Tested (also on Kindle Unlimited).  The third book in the series is Anna's Amish Fear Revealed which publishes on August 23.  Follow Tracy Fredrychowski on Amazon to receive an email when she has a new book release.  Tracy is holding a Quiltside Chat tonight at 7 p.m. on Facebook.  Click here to join her.  There is also a giveaway on Goodreads for Rebecca's Amish Heart Restored (contest ends April 30). Thank you for visiting today.  I am featuring Summer at the Cape by RaeAnne Thayne tomorrow.  I hope that you have a rewarding day.  Take care of yourself and Happy Reading!
