Rodeo Witness Protector by Sami Abrams

Rodeo Witness Protector
Book Summary

A dangerous conspiracy…
and a child in the crosshairs.

While stopping an attack near the rodeo grounds, bullfighter and part-time deputy Daniel Sinclair is stunned to see his high school sweetheart attempting to save a stabbed undercover deputy. As a witness now in possession of crucial evidence about a narcotics investigation, new rodeo doctor Annie Davis needs Daniel’s protection—for her and her missing four-year-old daughter. And the stakes only grow higher when the girl’s babysitter is found murdered and the recovered child refuses to speak. To safeguard the targeted family, can Daniel uncover who is behind it all…before a drug ring silences them for good?

My Thoughts

From the very first page, Rodeo Witness Protector by Sami A. Abrams pulled me into a fast-moving story full of heart, danger, and just the right touch of tenderness. The action and suspense kept me turning pages because I had to know what would happen next. I enjoyed the author’s easy, engaging writing style and the quick pace that carried the story along. The cast of characters is strong, and Annie Davis’s work as a rodeo doctor felt like such a fresh and interesting profession.

Deputy Daniel Sinclair’s protective nature toward Annie and her daughter, Lily, added warmth to the story, and the scenes with Lily and K-9 Shadow were absolutely adorable. I also appreciated the gentle thread of faith woven throughout the book, along with the tender moments that balanced the danger so well. Rodeo Witness Protector is the third book in the Stone Creek Ranch series, but it can easily be enjoyed as a standalone. This pulse-pounding tale wrapped up far too soon, but it left me smiling long after I turned the final page.

Rodeo Witness Protector is available now from Amazon, and I’m so excited for readers to dive back into the suspense, danger, and heart of Stone Creek Ranch! The next book in the Stone Creek Ranch series, Dangerous Rodeo Secrets, releases February 23, 2027. If you’re just discovering the series, you can also catch up with the first two books, Christmas Rodeo Killer and Deadly Rodeo Threat. On Wednesday, July 29, I’ll be featuring Trusting the Single Dad by Meghann Whistler, so be sure to stop by. Until then, I hope your day is filled with good books, cozy moments, and plenty of happy reading!

Zero Hour by Cara Putman, Sami Abrams, & Lily Hann

 Zero Hour
Book Summary

Three exciting stories of military-themed Christian Romantic Suspense!

Breaking Protocol - Cara Putman
When rule-bending investigator Todd Westmont discovers an unconscious thirteen-year-old girl, his spontaneous methods clash with strictly by-the-book caseworker Paige Newman. Exhausted by burnout and caring for her veteran brother, Paige uses rigid protocols to guard her fragile heart against Todd’s charm.  But the Jane Doe has leukemia and desperately needs a bone marrow donor—prompting reporter Dani Richards to agonizingly hope the girl is her long-lost daughter. Forced into an uneasy partnership, Todd and Paige trace a military challenge coin to a wounded veteran. To orchestrate a medical miracle, they must risk their own guarded hearts before time runs out.

Alaskan Hero's Return - Lily Hann
FBI agent and cyber expert Taylor Ertz has sworn off love. Three years ago, her fiancé vanished during a covert mission, presumed dead—but Taylor’s heart refuses to believe it. Now, she’s thrust undercover in Senator Schulz’s PR team, posing as a web designer to unmask a mole feeding secrets to the Russians.
Kambre “Kam” King should have died three years ago. The CIA declared him dead, along with the rest of his team. Now, as Spartak’s deadly network resurfaces, Kam is sent deep undercover to stop them—only to discover that Taylor is in their crosshairs.
Charlie ONE - Sami A. Abrams
Jade “Raven” Mitchell never steps into the field. She fights from behind a screen. Until someone decides her mind is the weapon they need. After uncovering proof that experimental military tech was hijacked to expose elite U.S. soldiers, her reports vanish. Six months later, she’s abducted from a Mexican resort.
BlackKnight Security owner and leader Liam “Charlie One” McKnight has trusted Raven’s voice on his comms for years. So, when he’s hired to find a missing contractor’s daughter and discovers Raven bruised and bound in a jungle hut, the mission turns personal.
But rescuing her is only the beginning.
My Thoughts

Zero Hour contains three captivating novellas by Sami A. Abrams, Cara Putman, and Lily Hann, and I truly enjoyed every one of them. Charlie ONE by Sami A. Abrams especially held my attention from beginning to end with its fast-paced plot, suspense, action, well-developed characters, and plenty of twists and turns. Alaskan’s Hero by Lily Hann and Breaking Protocol by Cara Putman were equally engaging, filled with danger, suspense, and nonstop momentum. Cara Putman’s story is a real page-turner, while Lily Hann’s novella surprised me with unexpected twists. This collection was an exciting and thoroughly enjoyable read from start to finish.

Zero Hour can be purchased from Amazon.  The next book in the Honor Bound Hearts series is Critical Threat by Virginia Vaughan, Elle E. Kay, and Sarah Hamaker.  Critical Threat comes out June 26 and it will be available through Kindle Unlimited. I am looking forward to reading Critical Threat. I am thankful that I am feeling better this week after my fibro flare up last week.  The fibromyalgia flare up was the worst one that I have ever had.  It kept me in bed for five days with the severe pain and migraines (which means no reading).
I will return on Wednesday, June 17 with Maggie's May Song by Diane Craver.  It is the fifth book in An Amish Romance Birthday series.  Enjoy the rest of your day and Happy Reading!

Deadly Rodeo Threat by Sami A. Abrams

 Deadly Rodeo Threat
Book Summary

A trail of missing women
leads him right into a killer’s trap.

When his twin sister disappears, Navy SEAL Logan Russell’s search for her leads him deep into the woods, where he finds her best friend in the clutches of a masked assailant. Sheriff Isabelle Sinclair is determined to solve Lisa’s mysterious disappearance the night of her last rodeo—and someone will do anything to keep her from digging too deep. When crucial evidence links Lisa’s case to a string of barrel racers who’ve also vanished, Logan and Izzie fight against the clock to track down a suspected serial killer. But when he sets his sights on Izzie, can they outsmart their enemy before both women end up dead?
My Thoughts

Deadly Rodeo Threat by Sami A. Abrams is a compelling story that immediately captured my interest.   The story was well written, featured likeable characters, and maintained a fast pace due to its action.  The mystery becomes more compelling as the book continues.  I enjoyed the drama, action, danger, and suspense.  Faith is nicely woven throughout with themes of forgiveness, redemption, hope, and trusting God.  I loved Logan’s service dog, Shadow (such a sweetie).  Deadly Rodeo Threat is the second book in the Stone Creek Ranch series, and it can be read as a standalone.  The ending of Deadly Rodeo Threat left me smiling.  Deadly Rodeo Threat is a hog-killin’ time with a missing sister, a concerned brother, a sweet service dog, a discovered body, dodging danger, connecting the clues, and hoping for a happily ever after.

Deadly Rodeo Threat can be obtained from Amazon*.  Christmas Rodeo Killer is the first book in the Stone Creek Ranch series.  Rodeo Witness Protector is the third book in the series, and it will be out on July 28.  If you follow Sami A. Abrams on Amazon, they will send you an email when she has a new book release.  Thank you for dropping by today.
On Wednesday, July 25, I am featuring An Amish Country Lullaby by Patricia Johns.  It is the second An Amish Antiques Shop Romance.  Here are a few other books that came out today:  Tangled Past by Mary Alford, Booking for Trouble by Jenn McKinlay, The Whisking Hour by Ellie Alexander, and A Texas Easter Blessing by Mindy Obenhaus.  It is been a cold couple of days and I am glad that chilly weather is on its way out.  My cat, Dickens loves hanging out on our screened porch.  We have a new neighbor and Dickens has been trying to get his attention.  Unfortunately, the new neighbor is not a cat person (does not mind them being around but does not understand that one wants him to give her attention--Dickens loves getting attention). Dickens is persistent and I know that she will keep trying.  I wish you a pleasant day.  Take care and Happy Reading!

About the Author

Award-winning, bestselling author Sami Abrams grew up hating to read. It wasn’t until her 30’s that she found authors that captured her attention. Now, most evenings, you can find her engrossed in a Romantic Suspense. In her opinion, a crime and a little romance is the recipe for a great story.

She lives in Northern California, but she will always be a Kansas girl at heart. She has a love of sports, family, and travel. However, a cabin at Lake Tahoe writing her next story is definitely at the top of her list.

More from Sami

While coming up with the idea for Kyle and Cassidy’s story, Killer Christmas Evidence, I loved the idea of a serial killer that no one knew about. Someone who killed in different places and in different ways to avoid detection. Kim Rossmo’s theory on Geographic Profiling was intriguing, and I wanted to implement that concept. But, as I started to write, I realized the idea was too big for a Love Inspired Suspense length book, so I had to adjust the story a bit to fit the situation. The basics are there, just not the details I had hoped for.

However, when I sat down to write and I got to know Kyle and Cassidy a little better, I realized the story wasn’t about the stealth serial killer, but about learning to let go of guilt and learning to forgive. How many times in our lives due to being hurt or the pain of loss do we assume we know the truth? Yet, if we listened—really listened—we discover not everything is what is appears to be. And the truth is not painful, but healing.

My Thoughts

Killer Christmas Evidence by Sami A. Abrams is a story that will have you reading late into the night.  I enjoyed getting to know Cassidy and Kyle.  Both are still grieving the loss of Kyle’s fiancé and Cassidy’s friend (as well as roommate and coworker).  I like that the characters were flawed.  This made them realistic and relatable.  All the action kept the pace peppy.  There are twists and turns that keep things lively.  I had a good time unraveling the clues along with Kyle and Cassidy.  It was an intriguing mystery.  Faith is nicely incorporated into the story.  After so many losses, it can be difficult to have faith.  They need to learn to trust God which is something we all must do.  Pray for His help when someone is in trouble and place their worries in His hands.  Killer Christmas Evidence is the fourth book in the Deputies of Anderson County series.  It can be read as a standalone, but it is better to read as a series.  I was happy to catch up with the characters from the previous three books.  I like Ethan and Brent’s (the EMTs) humor.  I loved the ending which left me smiling.  Killer Christmas Evidence was over far too soon.  Killer Christmas Evidence is a fastmoving tale with a grieving fiancé, an anomalous accident, an almost fatal fire, a shadowy shape, faithful friends, and a Christmas romance.

More from Sami

#Authorproblems   That’s what the excitement around Keith Young was…a problem—Kinda. Lol!

When I started to hear request for his story, I panicked. Authors don’t want to disappoint their readers. And being new to the published scene…Well, you get the picture. 😊

After the release of Buried Cold Case Secrets, many readers told me they wanted Keith’s story. In fact, the overwhelming response puzzled me. What had I done to create such a buzz about Jason’s partner? And of course, I had to ask why?

The general answer I received…Keith’s a nice guy and the perfect partner.

I have to admit, I got a little nervous since I had already written his story. And I worried if I’d done his character justice?

However, after writing Buried Cold Case Secrets, I knew Keith had to have his own story. He’s such a great guy and needed his happily ever after. So, I dove in and asked, what would happen if he made a huge mistake? Not just a physical one, but a heart one.

By the time I finished, I loved seeing Keith and Amy move past their poor choices and hurt to find acceptance and love. The perfect ending to Keith’s struggles.

All that to say, I hope you love Keith and Amy’s story as much as I do.  #TeamKeith

My Thoughts

Twin Murder Mix-Up by Sami A. Abrams is a suspenseful tale.  I am glad that the author gave us Keith’s story.  I like Sami Abrams writing style.  I started reading Twin Murder Mix-Up and found myself quickly drawn into the book.  I wanted to keep reading to find out how the story would end and who was behind the killings (I love solving mysteries).  Keith is a new Christian with good role models.  I liked the Christian elements in the book.  I did not find them to be overdone or preachy.  I could feel the character’s emotions (Amy’s love for Carter and Amy being scared are two examples).

Twin Murder Mix-Up is a suspenseful story with the killer coming after Amy.  This person always seems to be one step ahead of them.  It was an interesting mystery to solve.  I did feel, though, that the motive was weak.  We had the opportunity to catch up with the characters from Buried Cold Case Secrets which I appreciated.  Twin Murder Mix-Up can be read as a standalone (but why would you want to?).  I liked that despite what is going on, there were special touching moments (Amy with Carter, Keith with Amy, Ian with Carter).  It is nice that the characters were flawed and had insecurities.  It made them realistic.  I am glad that there was an epilogue that nicely wrapped up the book.  I am looking forward to reading Sheriff Dennis Monroe’s story (Detecting Secrets).  Twin Murder Mix-Up is a tense tale with a departed twin, an indomitable killer, a photographer on the run, an understanding detective, a remorseful friend, a sticky situation, and a lovable baby.

Abrams on Amazon, you will receive an email when she has a new book release.    Thank you for joining me today.  I will return on Monday with my thoughts on Peg and Rose Solve a Murder by Laurien Berenson.  It is the debut of A Senior Sleuths Mysteries.  I hope that you have an enjoyable weekend.  Do not forget to enter the giveaway and leave a comment for extra entries.  Take care, stay cool, and Happy Reading!
