More about Tanya

As a teenager, I spent my summers water-skiing on the King’s River in Central California. Even though we lived on the coast and the ocean, we traveled inland to the smooth river waters every other weekend for our sport. We camped on a sandy beach, skimmed over the water all day long and at night sat under a sky full of brilliant stars and listened to the sound of the water rippling past. Since we lived on the coast with a heavy marine layer, the amazing sky always fascinated me. Surrounded by massive cottonwood trees, with the smell of ripe fruit drifting toward us, my river experiences were different from home and more than memorable. On some nights we’d hear the splash and laughter as teenagers, somewhere across the river, came down to swim. I always wondered what it would be like to live in the nearby small, neat-as-a-pin town, to know the same people all of my life and to be able to drive down to the river with my friends on any given night. I envied those teenagers and always knew I’d someday write a story about central California. I didn’t know it would involve biological warfare and crazed killers…but that transition is another story all its own! I’ll stop here and hope you enjoy Killer Harvest!

My Thoughts

Killer Harvest by Tanya Stowe has Sassa Nilsson fighting for her life with Jared DeLuca trying to keep her and her baby safe from the Black Knights.  Sassa needs to recreate a deadly formula and then come up with a cure while keeping it out of the hands of the enemy.  Killer Harvest is a fast-paced suspense with touches of romance.  The action begins in the first chapter and it continues to the end.  Sassa is a strong female character who is intelligent, strong-willed and God fearing.  Jared is a border patrol agent who carries a load of guilt over the end of his marriage and not being able to save Sassa’s employer. He also has doubts about God.  Jared is taken with Sassa from the moment they meet, and he is equally enchanted with her sweet daughter.  You can feel the electric chemistry between our protagonists.  There is danger lurking around them with a madman intent on obtaining his goal.  I could feel the tension and danger as they fight against the Black Knights.  Bullets are flying and people are running.  This formula could destroy all plant life which means people would starve.  I was rapidly turning the pages of my ereader so I could find out how the story would end.  Be prepared for work to go undone when you sit down to read Killer Harvest.
