Finding Their Balance

Finding Their Balance by M.Q. Barber is the fifth book Neighborly Affection series.  Alice, Henry, and Jay are back for another installment.  Alice and Jay are recovering from their incident with Cal at the club and are enjoying life with Henry.  Alice is discovering new things with her “boys” every week and thoroughly enjoying them.  Each one of the them is finding their spot in the relationship and how they all fit together.  We get to see how things are progressing at the club where Henry has agreed to teach two different classes.  Cal takes offense to it and creates a problem.  Henry, Alice, Jay, Emma, and Will (looks like Santa Claus) are determined to take care of Cal once and for all.  Jay will really need to step up to put Cal firmly in his past.  Reading Finding Their Balance to see how life is progressing for Alice, Henry, and Jay.

Finding Their Balance was definitely better than the fourth book in the series, but not as good as the first two books.  It is an erotic novel (with masters, subs, whips, explicit sex), but we also get to explore the relationship between Alice, Henry, and Jay.  See how they deal with their situation with family and friends.  I was glad to see the Cal incident finally put to rest.  It went on for way too long.  I was also glad to see some growth in the characters (evolving and changing).  I give Finding Their Balance 3.75 out of 5 stars. Will I continue reading this series?  I am not sure.  I wish the series had ended with this book, but it did not.

The other books in the Neighborly Affection series are Playing the Game (wonderful), Crossing the Lines (very good), Healing the Wounds (good), and Becoming His Master (disappointing). I received a complimentary copy of Finding Their Balance from NetGalley in exchange for an honest evaluation of the book.

I am off to enjoy the Pretty Little Liars season finale (do not judge).  I hope all of you have a nice, relaxing evening.  Take care and Happy Reading!
