Wicked Stitch by Amanda Lee is the latest book in An
Embroidery Mystery series. The Renaissance
Faire is coming to Tallulah Falls and everyone is getting in the mood. Marcy Singer, owner of The Seven Year Stitch,
is going to have a booth at the fair.
She is busy preparing costumes for herself and her best friend, Sadie
MacKenzie as well as items to sell.
Things are going well for Marcy except for the thorn in her
side, Nellie Davis. Nellie owns
Scentsibilities, an aromatherapy shop.
For some reason, Nellie has never liked Marcy. Now Nellie’s sister, Clara is opening up
Knitted and Needled right next door to Marcy’s shop. The shop will be selling knitting, crocheting,
and quilting supplies (just like Marcy).
Clara even sets up the shop to be almost identical to The Seven Year
Stitch. Marcy is determined to be nice
and not let it get to her.
When Marcy goes to the meeting to get her booth assignment,
she finds out she is stuck in between Clara and Nellie. When Marcy goes to set up her booth, she
finds Clara dead in her booth. Marcy
immediately calls her boyfriend and detective, Ted Nash. Unfortunately, Clara has been strangled. Marcy and Ted set out to find out who killed
Clara (of course, Nellie accuses Marcy).
Unfortunately, Ted is thrown off the case because of Nellie. But Ted is not going to let that stop
him. There will be some stumbling blocks
along the way but nothing that they cannot handle.
Marcy and Ted are well suited for each other. They are such a cute and loving couple. Tallulah Falls is a wonderful town full of
warm and caring people (well, almost everyone).
Sadie and Blake MacKenzie, Julie and her daughter, Amber, Todd Calloway,
Reggie and Manu Singh are all back in Wicked Stitch. Of course, do not let us forget Angus! Angus gets a cute new friend in this
book.
I give Wicked Stitch 5 out of 5 stars! I just loved it. Wicked Stitch was an enjoyable story with a
great mystery. I like it when I cannot
solve the mystery within the first 100 pages. I eagerly look forward to the next book in
this series. I wonder if we will hear
wedding bells soon for Marcy and Ted.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author
in exchange for an honest review.
Wicked Stitch will be out on April 7, 2015. The next book in An Embroidery Mystery series is The Stitching Hour. The Stitching Hour will have a Halloween motif and will be out on November 3, 2015!
I have tried to give you an overview of the book without giving anything away (I am sure you do not want spoilers). I found Wicked Stitch just enjoyable. The descriptions of the costumes are just fabulous.
Have a wonderful Monday evening and Happy Reading!
Kris
