Love the One You're Witch

Happy Columbus Day!  It is my father's birthday and he has requested homemade chicken pot pie for dinner!  It is also Moment of Frustration Day!  I will have my moment of frustration when I take the crust and try to get it on the pot pie without it falling apart!

Love the One You’re Witch by Randa Flannery is a paranormal romance book.  Anastasia Gregor is a witch who works for the paranormal division of an investigative firm (special divisions have been created since the coming out of vampires, witches, werewolves, etc.).  Anastasia does not want to work with vampires, but she forgot to inform her boss or HR when she started with the company (Anastasia had a bad incident with a friend who turned into a vampire and then tried to turn her against her will).  The case involves the daughter of Moira Vincent.  Moira is the matriarch of an old vampire family.  The daughter, Erica is under the influence of a strong love spell.  It has her attracted to her mate’s brother, Lucas Vincent.  Erica’s mate, Kristof really wants the spell broken (and so does the rest of the family).  Erica is a little over the top under the spell and getting on everyone’s nerves.

When Anastasia meets Lucas there is an instant attraction.  After breaking the spell, Anastasia finds out the attraction is because they are destined to be mates!  Anastasia informs Lucas that witches do not mate.  However, she cannot deny the attraction and the need to be with Lucas.  Since Anastasia has to find out who created the spell in order to finish her task, she does agree to spend time with Lucas.  Are Anastasia and Lucas destined to be mates?  Who created the spell and who was it really intended for?  You will have to read Love the One You’re Witch to find out.

Love the One You’re Witch is a funny, quick book to read.  I found it severely lacking in substance, but it was long on humor.  It is mostly a little bit of magic and a lot of lust/attraction (there is even a sex toy store).  I give Love the One You’re Witch 3 out of 5 stars.  I wish the characters had been more developed.  We were given very little information on them.  I felt like the book was just rushed.

I received a complimentary copy of Love the One You’re Witch from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I am currently reading Guaranteed to Bleed by Julie Mulhern.  I hope you have a lovely Columbus Day (or Thanksgiving in Canada).  Take care and Happy Reading!
